1.   Short title, extent and commencement-Define the methods related.

        (1) This Act may be called the *** Goods-selling Act, 1930.


        (2) It extends [over the whole of India except Jammu and Kashmir's state.]


        (3) It shall come into force on the first day of July 1930.


2.   Definitions.- In this Act, unless something is against the  subject or context,


    (1) "Buyer" means a person who purchases or makes an agreement to buy goods.


    (2) "Delivery" means the voluntary transfer of possession from one person to another;


    (3) The goods are said to be in a "payable" condition when it is in such a requirement                  that the buyer is bound by a contract to take his delivery;


(4) "Documents of title to goods" include conveyance, postage, warehousing certificate, Ghatwal certificate, railway receipt [, multiple transport documents], warrant or order for delivery of goods and any other such form. Which is used in the slightest sequence of business as proof of possession or control over the goods or which is held by endorsement or delivery, to the person occupying that document, to transfer or receive the goods about which the form is Authorizes or purports to authorize;

(5) "Kasur" means defective Act or default;


(6) "future goods" means goods that the seller is to be manufactured or produced or acquired after contracting for sale;


(7) "Goods" means any kind of movable property other than claims and money which is inappropriate, and includes stock and portions, growing crops, grasses and land or parts thereof, before sale or sale. Separation from the land subject to the contract;


(8) A person who has ceased to pay his debts in the ordinary course of business or who cannot pay his debts as soon as they become due, even if he has committed an act of bankruptcy. Be it or not;

(9) "Commercial agent" means a commercial agent who, being such, in the ordinary course of business, either of the sales of goods or the consignment of goods for sale or purchase of goods or money on the security of goods Have authority to erect;


(10) "Price" means the consideration which is in the form of cash for the sale of goods;


(11) "Property" means ordinary property in interests, not just any unique property;


(12) "Quality of goods" also includes their condition or condition;


(13) "seller" means a person who sells goods or makes an agreement to sell;


(14) "specified goods" means the goods which are reflected and contracted at the time when the contract of sale is made


(15) Those terms used in this Act but not defined and defined in the Indian Contract Act, 

1872 (9 of 1872) have the meanings assigned to them in that Act.


 Application of the provisions of Act 9 of 1872 - Unreserved provisions of Indian Contract Act, 1872, except as far as they are inconsistent with the express provisions of this Act, contracts of sale of goods shall continue in force.
